Regretably, the reliability of this app has declined recently. I have many TP-link devices, lights, plugs, etc. On a TP-link AXE 5300 mesh network. In the past two weeks, devices have started to be grayed out in the app. Restarting the devices doesn't rectify. Very aggravating I thought I had a winner here, but have had to change my previous 5-star rating to 3-stars. I hope an app update will restore its previous high reliability.

Works exactly as described and I've had very few issues with it! I use the outlets to schedule my lamps to turn on and off which helps so much for my early work schedule when the sun's not even up yet. Love that I can also ask Google Assistant to control my lights. Widget sometimes stops working but it's minor.

A lot of the smart plugs don't stay connected and then when they get disconnected, they won't reconnect. It is really annoying. For example, this happens A LOT when I lose power. I can never reconnect to a smart plugs once they go offline because my phone will never obtain the IP address the smart plugs again. This happens way more than it should. It is extremely annoying. I don't know if the plug are broken or just stick, but either way I do not recommend this product.

The "person detection" notifications for the camera keep turning off, like after a month. Sort of defeats the purpose of what the camera is being relied upon to do. When it is working properly, this camera & software is great; just don't understand what makes the app turn off vital settings w/o warning like it does. The alerts can only be active on 1 device (i.e. If active on my phone, they deactivate on my tablet).

It loses connection alot with the lightbulb. My Alexa will say the power switch may be off. When it's not and the kasa app won't turn it on or off either. It says "fail to control" this happens often and I have to turn it on/off manually. Once or twice the device turned on by itself. My wifi connection is strong so that's not the issue either. I googled how to reset the bulb and still the app will say fail to control. The bulbs and/or app is not reliable.

There's gotta be a way to completely turn off the light with full color. Night vision. There's gotta be a toggle button. You have to create one in the app? . Temporarily, turn on or completely, turn off. Does it matter day or night, please? I would love to have full color without the light coming on. I want this to be discreet where my intruders.

Recently plugs have been turning on by themselves. Plugs "Local Only" option has been removed. Old review: The app is reliable, quick, and rather elegantly laid out. I like how each smartplug shows timers and away mode on the main screen. There is room for better energy monitoring information, but basic functionality works fantastic. The of Service Agreement are super wierd: "After opening the Kasa , TP-Link does not store the text of the contract in a form that the can access"

I've had the smart plugs for a month or so and so far, they're working better than any of the other smart plugs and lighting I've used. My biggest complaint with other brands is, if the power goes out, the schedule got messed up and had to reprogram them. With these they, come back on with no issue. I do with they could connect with my Alexa app though. I highly recommend these.
