Update 9\24. So after the most recent update I am unable to send messages. I have my phone settings in an opposite manner due to my handedness accessibility so it appears that this creates an issue with this particular app in that no send button appears on my main screen when attempting to send a message I just typed up. It's really an awesome substitute for people who don't want the hassle of a social media page, but communicate with multiple people at the same time.

The app used to be somewhat okay, but it's gotten much worse with recent updates. The search function within groups is now all but useless since it only searches a few days at a time. Media is cropped to a certain aspect ratio on android so you have to click into gifs just to read the text on them. They took away the persistent like button in favor of a "double tap to like" system, which I assume was to appear more modern, but messages constantly move as people type, so it's frustrating to do.

Inconsistently broken. Do not let your group use this, people will miss messages. And it won't be on them. After g up and installing, notifications didn't start working until about 2 weeks later in the middle of the night, and without me changing anything on my end. But the app was kind enough to ask me to rate it and that button works ; )

This app is garbage. I wouldn't use it if it weren't required for communication on my son's soccer team. It mutes the notifications constantly. I un-mute the notifications every time I open the app and it turns them back off. I have all the alerts turned on but it mutes the only conversation I have in the app. I'd only advise ing the app if it's absolutely necessary. The amount of information that I'm getting late because of the app's issues is unacceptable.

I used to love this app but over the past two weeks it's been a complete pain. My messages keep failing and not sending. Specifically, if I try to dm someone from a group. Groupme prompts me to retry constantly and it still doesn't work. I've tried on a computer and phone, relogging in, clearing my cache, reinstalling and restarting my phone. Nothing seems to work.

The notifications are glitchy on my phone, with group chats and direct messages. I'll open a chat to see that I've missed messages from days ago. And sometimes I'll read messages, exit the chat, and it will still say that the messages are unread. I have an Android phone. Edit: today I missed a message in a work group chat, I was mentioned (@) in the message and I still didn't get a notification. This is ridiculous.

Notifications randomly stop working. This is unrelated to any group level, level, or OS system level notification settings I have (which all say to allow notifications). Unfortunately this is not an uncommon experience with GroupMe, as over the years I've used it, this has happened to either me or other of groups I'm in.

You can't even create an in this app. When creating your profile, it asks that you your phone number. The first time it send a code to my phone which I entered correctly, yet it kept on saying that the code I entered was wrong. Then it kept on sayng unexpected error, even after I deleted the app and reinstalled it.
